HYDERABAD: Makki Shah police have arrested an activist of Pak Sarzameen Pany (PSP) for allegedly shooting at and injuring an activist of Sunni Tehreek on Sunday night.
Mohammad, 27, fired two bullets on legs of Faisal of Sunni Tehreek near Rehmania mosque, Shah Faisal Colony, on Sunday night.
Injured Faisal was taken to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) city branch where his condition was stated to be normal.
Police have registered a case on the complaint of Arshad Qadri, a close friend of Faisal who, according to Makki Shah police, was present along with his friend Faisal, when the latter was fired upon.
SHO Makki Shah police station Imran Afridi confirmed the arrest of Mohammad.
He said that Mohammad had an altercation with Faisal a couple of days back after the PSP general workers` gathering at Pucca Qilla.
PSP chairman Mustafa Kamal had addressed the PSP workers` meeting.
Mohammad is said to be in-charge Cantonment Board Hyderabad`s ward-7 and according to police he had been involved in multiple cases of identical nature in which he fired upon people.
Mohammad spotted Faisal in Shah Faisal Colony at a hair dresser`s shop, called him outside and fired two bullets on his legs before fleeing.
SHO Afridi said that the pistol used in the crime had been recovered from him.
