Centre creating problems for Sindh govt over IG issue, says minister

SUKKUR: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the provincial government had sent to the Centre the names of three of ficials of Grade-20 for appointment as inspector general of police (IGP)in the province.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said the federal government had been creating problems for the Sindh government in this regard, but now it depended on the former to appoint one of them.
The minister said the Sindh government had put at number one the name of Abdul Majeed Dasti, whose services had been placed at the disposal of the provincial government, after his promotion by the federal government.
He said the law and order situation was better in Sindh, but there were complaints about street crimes for which the chief minister had issued directives for taking necessary steps.
Commenting on the political crisis in Balochistan, he blamed the federal government for it. The PML-N was trying to create a situation of confrontation in the country after the Supreme Court gave a verdict against Nawaz Sharif in the Panama Papers case, he added.
He claimed that severalimportant leaders of the Grand Democratic Alliance would soon join the Pakistan Peoples Party.
In reply to a question about the proposed marriage of PTI chairman Imran Khan, Mr Shah said it was a personal matter of Mr Khan.
