LA HOR E: Senior lawyer and former prosecutor general of the National Accountability Bureau, Waqas Qadeer Dar, passed away on Wednesday after a protracted ailment.

He was diagnosed with throat cancer some two yearsago.

Before appointment as NAB prosecutor general during the PML-N`s last tenure in the government, Dar had also served as deputy attorney general and assistant advocate general of Punjab.

His funeral prayer was offered at the Cavalry Ground and he was laid to rest in a graveyard of the area.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh, other sitting and former judges of the court, senior lawyers and government law officers attended the funeral.
