TOBA TEK SINGH: A child died and his mother injured after the wall of their house caved in on Wednesday at Chak Harisabad located on Pirmahal-Sindhilianwali Road.
Reports said a tractor was parked outside their house and its ignition key was in it. A six-year-old boy switched on the key and the tractor collided with the wall of the house as a result the wall and a room collapsed.
The deceased child was identified as Ahsan while his mother, Parveen (30), was shifted to Pirmahal THQ Hospital.
FIEDMIC: The 140th meeting of Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMIC) Board of Directors was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister of Industry and Trade Chaudhry Shafey Hussain.
A press release said the board appointed former president of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Khurram Tariq as the chairman of the board temporarily and delegated him powers of signing authority.
The board approved the formation of five different committees, including procurement and audit.
In addition, the board also approved some administrative and financial matters.
The board approved the extension of the contract of Zamzam Security Services as per the rules and hiring a of new security company, while the contract was approved subject to e-tendering for the remaining work of the main entrance and boundary wall ofAllama Iqbal Industrial City.
A financial model for launching commercial area in M-3 motorway industrial city was also approvedbythe board.
The minister said the affairs of FIEDMIC will be improved and a highly professional security agency will be hired for security issues in the industrialcentres.
He expressed his displeasure at the slow pace of development work in the industrial centres and directed to complete the work quickly. He said that transparency, timely completion and quality should be kept in mind in development works. The additional secretary (commerce), senior economic adviser and Faisalabad deputy commissioner participated in the meeting through video link.
HBFC: The House Building Finance Corporation (HBFC) has offered to provide loans in easy installments for constructing a house in FDA City under which the applicant will be given loan up to Rs60 million.
Regional Head HBFC Central Lahore Fakhr Abbas Awan, Branch Manager Faisalabad Abdul Rehman and Assistant Manager Business Nauman Ahmed visited on Wednesday different blocks of FDA City and saw the construction of houses there.
Director General FDA Muhammad Asif said as a result of provision of loans the dream of allottees who want to build a house in FDA City will be fulfilled.
It was decided that an HBFC information counter will be set up in the office of Project Management Unit of FDA City so that allottees can get information on the spot for house finance.
