PESHAWAR: The provincial government has announced to merge Small Industrial Development Board (SIDB) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (EZDMC).
Chief Minister Pervez Khattak issued these directives while presiding over the 11th meeting of the board of directors of EZDMC, according to a statement issued here on Wednesday.
The meeting also approved provision of gas-produced electricity to Hayatabad Industrial Estate, and involvement of board of directors in the working groups for the CPEC-related projects.
Mr Khattak said the Chinese government had already agreed to invest in multiple projects with investment of billions of dollars, adding the investment would come through the top Chinese companies.
He directed to gear up activities in order to get maximum investment attracted to the projects, saying that the role of EZDMC was of great importance in this regard.
The CM also directed for formation of a committee of EZDMC board of directors to plan commercialisation of the spare property in different industrial estates.
The chief minister said that western route stood part of the CPEC and was reflected in the previous JCC meeting of the CPEC.
He said his government had succeeded to make seven mega projects part of the CPEC and some other projects would be negotiated in the next JCC meeting.— Bureau Report
