KARACHl: The body of a minor boy, who had gone missing a few days ago, was found off Superhighway on Wednesday, police and hospital officials said.

They said that the body of 12-year-old boy was found in a warehouse near an abandoned textile mill. The corps was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where it was taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for a post-mortem examination.

Police Surgeon Summaiya Syed said that the boy died two to three days before. The body bore multiple injuries including burns and it was in the stage of decomposition, she said.

She said that the post-mortem findings were suggestive of `strangulation and throttling`. `A sexual assault cannot be ruled out...samples have been taken and sent for analysis.

East SSP Zubair Nazeer Shaikh told Dawn that the boy had been missing since Feb 5 from the same area. He said an FIR was lodged by the family on the very first day and the police launched a probe into it.
