GUJRAT: The annual Sports Gala 2023 under the University of Gujrat opened at the Hafiz Hayat Campus on Wednesday.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shabbar Atig was the chief guest of the grand opening ceremony of the two-day mega sports event Athletes participating in the games were sworn in to follow the rules and regulations to maintain discipline.

UoG Sports Board head Dr WaseemMumtaz said teams from different departments and city campuses reached the UoG Hafiz Hayat Campus in droves.

They wore different colours and carried the national flag as they lined up.

The athletes showed their performance in sprint competition, gymnastics and tug-of-war.

A friendly cricket match between Vice Chancellor XI and Registrar XI drew crowds.

The winning teams and individuals in various competitions will be awarded prizes at a grand ceremony.
