Dasti skips ACE call for investigation

LAHORE: Former adviser to the chief minister Abdul Hai Dasti did not appear before the investigators of the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday.

According to the ACE, Mr Dasti allegedly hid Rs150 million in his house which was obtained from bribes and kickbacks.

The Anti-Corruption Department decided to issue another summons to him.

Meanwhile, PTI leader Usman Dar recorded his statement to the ACE in a probe against him. He was summoned in a case filed in Sialkot for taking bribes in contracts for public health and local government schemes.

The ACE alleges Dar awarded contracts to the favourite people. In this case, Public Health Engineering SDO Jahangir Butt has already been arrested.

According to Jahangir Butt’s statement, Rs500,000 was taken from him and his transfer was stopped. It said that a case had already been registered against Butt and in the same case, Dar and his brothers were being investigated.

According to the ACE, asset details of brothers Usman Dar, Umar Dar and Amir Dar have been sought.
