JEDDAH: King Feisal reiterated his unstinted support for the right of self-determination for the people of Jammu and Kashmir when he gave an audience to Sheikh Abdullah. The King said that Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to press for the insertion in the UN Charter of the clause regarding the peoples` right to self-determination. The King went on to say that nobody should expect Saudi Arabia not to support the right of Kashmiris to decide their destiny. The King also stressed the need for solidarity and cohesion among Muslim people.
Sheikh Abdullah emerged from the interview very satisfied and happy. Talking to Pressmen, he expressed his gratitude and that of the people of Kashmir for the stand taken by Saudi Arabia towards Kashmir.-Agencies [Meanwhile, as reported by agencies from Cairo], Pakistan`s delegate to the `Seminar on Palestine` told the conference Israel was a time bomb which was bound to explode sooner or later.
It was a danger to all neighbours and a menace towards peace. Prof. A.B.A. Haleem, after giving the background of the Palestine problem, pointed out that Pakistan had opposed Israel`s creation and maintained that the UN had extended its authority in creating Israel. He emphasised that Pakistan did not recognise Israel, had no relations, diplomatic or commercial, and no Pakistani could visit that country. On many occasions, Pakistan had declined to be the hostforinternational conferences because such conferences would have involved [the] entry of Israeli delegation to Pakistan.
