LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (L HC) has introduced a new Case Flow Management System (CFMS) aimed at making information about all the cases available on the Internet and curbing chances of corruption.
Speaking at launching ceremony on Saturday, Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said the information available on the Internet about the cases would end uncertainty regarding fixation of the cases among lawyers and the litigants. He said the previous software used by the LHC was unable to handle load of data and the new system prepared with collaboration of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was more ef ficient and user-friendly. He said e-filing of cases had been made possible with the cooperation of the lawyers.
The chief justice said both the lawyers and litigants would be intimated about fixation of their cases through SMS or email. He said the LHC would also have information about appearance of any lawyer before the Supreme Court and would fix or postpone his/her case accordingly.
PITB chairman Umar Saif said the L HC`s website was accessed by 180m while 102,000 people called its helpline 1134. He said during the last three months, 10,000 people downloaded LHC`s mobile application on their smartphones.
