HYDERABAD: Balochistan Democratic Party leader Dr Abdul Hayee Baloch has said that rulers want to keep intact the system of loot and plunder of public resources and no change can be brought about here unless this mindset changes.
He said at a tea party hosted in his honour by local press club on Monday that as a nationalist he would never accept this system because it was `tyrannical towards oppresse d nations` rights` He said that Pakistan was in need of true democracy but its jagirdars and capitalists were afraid of it. Problems would never be resolved as long as documents of law and Constitution were treated like trash, he said, adding that if institutions of parliament, judiciary and media got strong they would strengthen democracy.
He said that everyone must submit to rule of law. Problems in Balochistan and Pakistan were not getting resolved because of use of force and Balochistan Assembly remained ineffective because Jam Kamal Khan received orders from `above`.
He believed that it was failure of Pakistan`s foreign policy that the country faced isolation in the world. The oppressed nations` rights were never accepted and state never gave any importance to people, he said.
He said that Baloch had always struggled against injustice though they supported government occasionally and referred to Ataullah Mengal`s support for the government. But, he said, change had alwayseluded Balochistan and even today Baloch workers went missing.

`Clamour for accountability` Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi has said that clamouring for accountability will go on and politicalopponents will continue to be victimised in its name.
Dr Magsi said at a meeting of central committee of his party on Monday that institutions which had been created to eliminate corruption had failed to produce results as the menace could not be curbed without effective legislation and its implementation.
He said that only nationalist politics could offer a solution to all problems of Sindh because feudal lords had always robbed the province ofitsrightsinordertoprotecttheir own vested interests.
He said that feudal lords had always enslaved the poor and peasants. People of Sindh were facing starvation and joblessness and lacked access to basic amenities.
Healthcare and education had been completely destroyed in the province, he said.
He said that youths were running from pillar to post to get jobs whereas agriculture sector was being destroyed deliberately. Farmers were facing serious difficulties because of acute shortage of water in lower Sindh while gunny bags were not available to wheat growers and prices of agricultural produce had drastically declined, he said.
He said that disappointment ran high among people and it could prove detrimental to country`s integrity. Sindh needed a political party today which truly represented working class and had a comprehensive plan for solution of people`s issues, he said, adding STP was that party which represented middle class and had a programme for Sindh`s brightfuture and prosperity.
He urged people to support STP to get rid of `slavery` and build a new Sindh through political struggle.
