ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Education on Tuesday directed inspection of refurbished Chromebooks being provided to schools.

The ministry also de cided that certificates of satisfactory delivery will be obtained from schools heads.

Secretary Education Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani through an official letter, directed Director General Federal Directorate of Education for inspection of Chromebooks and charges.

`This letter is aim to ensure that all Chromebooks and charges supplied to schools under the joint initiative of the Federal Directorate of Educationand National Book Foundation are thoroughly inspected for functionality before delivery,` read the letter.

The ministry of education through National Book Foundation procured 12,500 refurbished Chromebooks and each book was purchased against Rs11,500 through tendering process.

Sources said that around 4,000 devises had been supplied and remaining will also be delivered soon.

Meanwhile, the FDE is also going to open tender in next few days for procuring further around 10,000 secondhand Chromebooks.-Staff Reporter
