Arrangements for spring, flora fests in the works

S A R G O D H A : Preparations have been finalised for the threeday annual Jashn-iBaharan Mela Mandi and the seven-day flora festival in Sargodha.
A meeting chaired by Parks and Horticulture Authority(PHA)Director General Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad reviewed arrangements for the festival starting from April 14, followed by the flora festival from April 16 to 22.
The DG said the flora festival would take place at PHA office`s green space.
The event will feature colourful activities, commodity exhibitions and institutional stalls, aiming to provide entertainment for people of all ages.
A grand musical show is also on the cards, where renowned artists from across the country are expected to perform.
Cultural performances, variety shows and other healthy recreational programmes will be held to create a festive atmosphere for families.
KILLED: A man was shot dead over a longstanding enmity in NoorKhanwala Khwajaabad in the Naba area of Bhera.
According to sources, armed people opened fire killing 60-year-old Ghulam Yasin while he was cutting fodder. The attackers fled the scene.
Police shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and have begun collecting evidence as part of their investigation.
MURDER CASE: Police have solved the murder case of Asif, young man, in Jhawarian town.
According to officials, Asif was found killed in a mysterious incident. The police arrested Amjad and recovered the illegal weapon allegedly used in the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
BAR: Lawyers of the Bhera Bar Association held a rally to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Lawyers condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression and raised slogans against Israel, calling for the issue to be taken up at both national and global levels.
They said the entire Ummah stands united with the oppressed Palestinians, and urged the government to raise its voice on international platforms.
