MARDAN: The residents of different areas of Takht Bhai tehsil of Mardan district have demanded of authorities to conduct fumigation spray and provide them with mosquito nets to protect them from dengue, malaria and other diseases.

They told this scribe that the number of mosquitoes had increased in their areas during the last few days that posed serious threat to people. They claimed that malaria was spreading fast among people in Seribehlol area, one of the affected localities, due to rapid increase in the number of mosquitoes.

They said that most of women and children were affected by malaria. They alleged that the number of mosquitoes was increase as water channels and drainage lines were not kept clean.

They also complained that prolonged and unscheduled power loadshedding had made their lives miserable because without electricity, they were easily falling prey to mosquito bites.

They demanded for the relevant officials of district administration to take effective measures in that regard so that women, children and elderly people could be protected from malaria and other diseases.
