KARACHI: The Sunni Tehreek (ST) on Monday extended its support to the Pak Sarzameen Party`s (PSP) `million march` scheduled to be held on May 14.
A PSP delegation led by its chairman Mustafa Kamal visited the headquarters of the ST, met its central leaders Sarwat Ejaz Qadri and Shahid Ghori and invite d them to their protest for the rights of Karachi and against the poor governance of the Sindh government.Later, the two sides held a press conference in which the ST chief said that the 16 demands of Mr Kamal were in the best interest of Karachi and the country.
Extending his support to the PSP protest, he said his party would fully participate in the `million march` and struggle alongside Mr Kamal for the betterment of the country.
The PSP chairman thanked the ST leadership for their support.
He asked the people of Karachi to come out of their houses on May 14.
`We are not taking to the streets for ourrights and not to topple the government.
He said he would consider himself the biggest enemy of the Urduspeaking community if he raised the `Mohajir slogan`.
`How can we leave out other ethnic communities in the city?` he asked.
To a question, he said participation by Karachi Mayor Wasim Akhtar in his `million march` would make no difference.
The PSP delegation comprised Raza Haroon, Waseem Aftab and MPA Mohammad Dilawar.
