Young man killed in Manghopir

KARACHI: A young man was found dead with torture marks visible on his body in Manghopir on Monday, according to police.
The of ficials said that the body of the unidentified victim, in his early 20s, was spotted in Hawwa Goth.
There were torture marks on his head and other parts of the body, said Manghopir SHO Haji Sanaullah.
The officer added that a 45-year-old man, who had been found dead over a week ago in Wangi Goth area of Manghopir, was identified on Monday.He said the victim, Zafar Iqbal, was a former soldier who used to sell ice cream on his rickshaw in the area. The SHO said that a suspect, Mir Murtaza, was arrested for allegedly killing Zafar as the former wanted to grab his rickshaw and set up his own business of ice cream in the area.
Watchman killed A young watchman was shot dead in Ahsanabad late Sunday night.
Dilshad was gunned down in a small room built on a plot in Ahsanabad, said SITE Superhighway Industrial SHO Anar Khan. He added that the mur-der appeared to be outcome of some personal enmity because the watchman`s relative nominated one Abdul Hafeez in the murder case.
Father, son held for `honour`killing The father and brother of a young divorcee were detained after they had allegedly killed her in the name of `honour` at their house in Keamari in the early hours of Monday, police said.
The officials added that Ghulam Nabi and his son, Nabeel, strangled his 23-year-old daughter, Farzana, at their home on Masan Road in Tashqand Colony.
City SSP Adeel Hussain Chandio told Dawn thatthe family initially claimed that she had committed suicide, but later the suspects told police interrogators that they had killed her for `honour`.
The police registered a murder case against the two suspects on the behalf of the state, said Jackson SHO Shaoor Khan. He said her father got hold of her while her brother throttled her with his hands.
The officer said that the victim had been divorced three months after her recent marriage.
Investigations revealed that she had allegedly developed extramarital relations with her brother-in-law, the SHO said, adding that the suspects claimed to have killed her because she had been `destroying` the marriage of her elder sister.
