LAHORE: A young orthopaedic doctor of the Lahore General Hospital was killed at his rented house at Kot Lakhpat on Sunday.
Police found the bullet-riddled body of Dr Fiaz Hussain in the house at Gulshan-e-Ahbab Housing Society where he was living alone.
He was shot 10 times by suspects, a police official said. He said the gruesome murder showed the alleged killers had a ‘personal grudge’ against him.
He was a resident of Layyah district and posted in the LGH in March this year, he said, adding that the motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
The crime scene suggested that someone visited the house of Dr Fiaz late on Saturday and spent some hours with him, the police official said. The police team including forensic experts found no mark of torture.
On their visit, they were served food and the bullet-riddled body of Dr Fiaz was found on the chair.
“The crime scene suggested that the deceased was eating some food with someone (may be prime killer),” he said.
He said police had taken the mobile phone of the deceased into custody and were also trying to get call data records of his close relatives.
The official said the wife of the deceased was also a doctor. She reached Lahore when she was informed about the murder of her husband.
