RAWALPINDI: In all, 37 sick and wounded Pakistani POWs arrived here this afternoon [May 8] in a DC-6 aircraft of Belair, a subsidiary of Swiss Air, chartered by ICRC. ... Ghaus Bakshsh Khan Bizenjo, has said that Urdu was the only language which could provide a real good link among different sections of the people. ...[H]e said it was for this reason that he made Urdu the official language of Baluchistan. Before taking this decision, he said, he had two alternatives before him either adopt English or Urdu as the official language. He preferred the latter one because he wanted to root out the last vestiges of alien rule.

He, however, said that ultimately Baluchi would become the alternative official language. `We could not adopt it right now, because there were certain technical and practical difficulties in the way,` he stated.
