LAKKI MARWAT: Lakki Marwat has been included in the top 10 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa showing the best education score, claimed an official on Sunday.

He said the monthly education ranking of the districts was issued on the basis of performance scorecard. He said Lakki Marwat remained at the bottom of education scorecard for one year.

`However, now the district has been included in the top 10 districts, ranking seventh across the province on the basis of previous month`s evaluation,` he claimed.The official said the credit for the satisfactory education ranking went to district education officer Zahoor Khan, who worked hard to improve the performance indicators.

`After assuming charge of his office 10 months ago, Mr Zahoor implemented the reward and punishment policy in letter and spirit,` the official said, adding under the policy, the habitual truant employees were dismissed from service.

He said several derelict teachers and clerks were either sent on compulsory retirement or their services were placed at the disposal of the provincial directorate of elementary and secondary education.
