Wild deer killed by poachers in Muzaffargarh

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A wild deer was captured and slaughtered by poachers in the island forest of the Indus River, a part of the Eesanwala Forest, in district Muzaffargarh.

The deer, which had taken refuge in a maize crop after being chased by hunting dogs was captured with the help of local residents and slaughtered.

The assistant director of the wildlife department in Muzaffargarh received a tip-off from volunteers about the illegal hunting and slaughter of the deer.

The assistant director, along with the senior wildlife ranger of Kot Addu and their team, immediately rushed to the scene. They were accompanied by the Punjab Police from the Eesan Wala check post.

They collected the evidence that the poachers had slaughtered the precious wild deer and fled.

Bloodstains and witness testimonies from locals confirmed that the deer had been hunted and slaughtered.

The wildlife department of Kot Addu had submitted a complaint to Mahmood Kot Police Station, and a case was registered.
