Sabre Queen puts up smashing show

LAHORE: Odds-on favourite mare Sabre Queen produced a high calibre performance to be a magnificent winner during the day/ night Lahore Summer Meeting at the floodlit Racecourse here on Sunday.

In the second supporting event, the five-year-old mare ridden confidently by jockey Aftab Chaudhry galloped to a fourth successive triumph. Thoroughbred filly Angel Eye finished second seven lengths behind.

A race later, twice beaten to second spot, bay colt That Man Again crossed the finish line first in the feature event.

The 40 to 100 favourite, ridden by jockey Aamir Pervez, beat chestnut colt Olympus with dark-bay colt Kartoos third to score his maidensuccess.

A vast improved performance was witnessed in the second race in which twice beaten chestnut filly Baby Doll surprised the race-goerswith a stunning four-length success over dark-bay colt Well In Time.

Well-backed horses swept the card of six races of which three were held under lights.
