LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday allowed a Pakistan Tehreeki-Insaf lawyer to present details of four Mayfair flats allegedly owned by Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of the prime minister, during hearing of petitions filed after Panama Leaks.

PTI Lawyers Wing leader Advocate Gohar Nawaz Sindhu told the court that the prime minister`s daughter established two offshore companies and purchased flats in Mayfair (London).

He said documents obtained from the British property registration authority confirmed ownership of four flats in the name of Maryam Nawaz. He sought court`s permission to place the details of Maryam`s flats on the record.

Justice Shahid Waheed granted the permission to the petitioner and adjourned further hearing of the petition for two weeks.

Advocate Sindhu and others had filed the petitions which sought proceedings against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his alleged involvement in establishing offshore companies and concealing facts from public.

The petitioners submitted that many politicians including the prime minister were involved in money laundering and establishing offshore companies. They said public money was invested in offshore companies and it was also shifted abroad through illegal means.

They sought an inquiry by NAB into Panama Leaks and asked the court to declare the PM and other politicians disqualified for establishing offshore companies.

Legal adviser of the ECP opposed the petitions and told the court that the prime minister had disclosed all his assets at the time of filing nomination papers in the 2013 general election. He asked the court to dismiss the petitions for being baseless.
