KOHAT: Two men were killed and two others received injuries when two groups exchanged fire over a petty dispute on Darmalak road in Lachi tehsil here on Saturday.

Rescue 1122 officials said that four persons were injured in the clash. They were identified as Sajid, Hassan, Abbas and Jehangir. The injured were shifted to a local hospital where doctors pronounced Sajid and Abbas dead.

The two other injured, Hassan and Jehangir, were shifted to KDA hospital. The FIRs registered by Manzoor and a woman from rival group said that Mairaj Khan had gone to Badshah Gul to complain about the illegal cutting of trees but a brawl took place and both groups exchanged fire.

Hassan told police in the hospital that he along with Sajid and Aman Gul was playing Luddo when Badshah Gul, Zubair, Umair, and Waqas attacked them.

The dead bodies were handed over to their families for burial after autopsy. Police registered a double murder and attempted murder cases against both parties under sections 302, 324, 148, and 149 of PPC. Zubair, Badshah Gul and Umair, sons of Aman Gul, and Waqas along with seven others were nominated in the FIRs.
