Site selected for holding Eid gala in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: A committee headed by assistant commissioner Sher Alam Khan on Wednesday visited several sites in Lakki city to select a suitable place for holding the Eid gala.
Pak army is sponsoring the event during Eid days to provide healthy recreation facilities to the residents. Deputy Commissioner Ihsanullah Khan had directed to find a suitable placeforthe purpose.
Members of the committee visited Bukhari Shah ground, Pak army camping ground commonly known as Mujahid ground, Dalan ground (river Gambila) and a playground of government high school no. 2, Lakki. However, they selected army camping ground as the most suitable place for holding the Eid gala.
A member of the committee said the site was selected keeping in view security arrangement, accessibility and people`s attraction and sufficient accommodation for setting up stalls, a zoo, a circus and other recreational activities.
`The space is covered from almost all sides with room for establishing entrance and exit points towards old kachery road,` said the member.
The committee member said police and other law enforcement agencies won`t face any problem in malcing foolproof security arrangements. Located near river Gambila, the Mujahid ground is used for holding sports tournaments,` he maintained.
Also in the day, a meeting held at the district headquarters complex, Tajazai, discussed arrangements for Eid gala.
Deputy Commissioner Ihsanullah Khan chaired the meeting, which was also attended by army officials, DPO Ali Akbar Shah, AC Sher Alam Khan and other concerned officials.
The deputy commissioner said Eid gala was aimed at provide entertainment and recreation facilities to people and to promote local culture. He said archery competition and other traditional and cultural activities would be held on the occasion. Correspondent
