PMA calls for renaming Faisal Masood hospital

SARGODHA: A meeting of the executive body of Pakistan Medical Association, Sargodha chapter, held here on Sunday night at Gymkhana Club criticised the government for its `flawed` health policies.

The meeting was attended by executive body chairman Dr. Tahir Munir Chaudhry, Dr. Mushtaq Cheema, Dr.

Sarwar Chaudhry, Dr. Abid Khan, Dr.

Prof. Hashim Imran, Dr. Iqbal Sami, Dr.

Afzal Warraich and Dr. Sikandar Hayat Warraich.

They were of the view that that thereare more than 26 departments in Punjab, out of which the health department has become a tool for experiments.

Dr. Sarwar Chaudhry presented a resolution that the name of DHQ Teaching Hospital Sargodha should be changed from Dr. Faisal Masood to Dr.

Nasrullah Khan Teaching Hospital who had sacrificed his entire life for the betterment of the health institute.

The resolution was approved by an overwhelming majority.

They said Dr.Faisal Masood did not contribute to the hospital, then how it was named to pay tribute to him whereas it was the prerogative of those who served the people for a long time.
