Rs24bn seven schemes approved

LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday approved the chief minister`s programme for solarisation of agricultural tubewells in the province at an estimated cost of Rs9 billion.

The PDWP`s third meeting presided over by Planning and Development Board Chairman Barrister Nabeel Awan approved seven development schemes worth over Rs24 billion.

The working party approved protection against erosive action for the River Chenab along the left side in Hafizabad district (Kot Kameer and Behak Ahmad Yar) at a cost of Rs848.97 million.

The rehabilitation improvement of FaisalabadJaranwala road at Makuana bypass to Syedwala Okara road via Syedwala Interchange Motorway M-3,45kms long, at a cost of Rs3.8 billion. Rehabilitation/ improvement of Ghazi Road connecting Ring Road to Ferozepur Road in Lahore district has been approved with an estimated cost of Rs530 million.

Rehabilitation/improvement from Syedwala to Jaranwala 12kms in Nankana Sahib district at a cost of Rs1.32 billion. Rehabilitation/improvement of Faisalabad Satiana Tandlianwala Mari Pattan, Okara Road, (61.07km section from Chamrall Jhall to Maripattan, (33.39km) at a cost of Rs3.451 billion .

Rehabilitation of Sahiwal Arifwala road upto District Boundary (27km in Sahiwal) has been approved at a cost of Rs5.49 billion.

P&D Board Secretary Dr Asif Tufail, agriculture department secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, C&W Se cretary Sohail Ashraf, Chief Economist Nasir Iqbal Malik, P&D Board members and other officers concerned attended the meeting.
