KARACHI: A Revolutionary Council has been set up by the people of the occupied part of Kashmir to conduct an all-out war of liberation against Indian imperialism. This was announced by a radio station describing itself as `Sadai Kashmir` as picked up by the monitoring department of the Azad Kashmir Radio last night. The Revolutionary Radio Station also announced the termination of all so-called agreements with India and declared that the Kashmiris must rise to a man to fight for their honour.
`We shall punish the traitors,` the broadcast said, `who betray the cause of freedom at this crucial moment in the history of Kashmir.
Karachi station of Radio Pakistan interrupted its scheduled programme to announce the news late last night. `Sadai Kashmir` declared: `The battle for freedom has been joined.` [The radio] said the establishment of a Revolutionary Council for occupied Kashmir marks the 12th anniversary of the arrest of Sheikh Abdullah ... for his refusal to accept India`s colonial rule and for the insistence on the Kashmiris deciding their own destiny according to their own wishes. Agencies [Meanwhile, as reported by agencies from Kathmandu], a group of Bhutanese exiles charged here today [Aug 8] that the attempted assassination of the King of Bhutan last week had been instigated by the Indian Government. They also said that the assassination last year of the late Bhutanese Premier Mr Jigme Dorji had been instigated in India. A Press statement for the group issued by Brig-Gen Ugyen Tangbi, Former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Bhutanese Army, denied that exiles had any part in the attack on King Jigme Dorji Wanchuk. The statement said the Indian Government would not be able toincreaseits [strangleholdjoverBhutan as long as the King was there.
