Jamaat denies inviting Ayesha Gulalai to its folds

PESHAWAR: Jamaat-i-Islami provincial deputy general secretary Advocate Bahrullah Khan has said that his party has not extended any invitation to MNA Ayesha Gulalai to join it.
Addressing a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, he said that JI had nointerest to comment on the allegations levelled by MNA Ayesha Gulalai against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan. He said that his party had distanced itself from the issue.
Mr Khan said that Ayesha Gulalai`s allegations against PTI Chairman Imran Khan was an internal matter of PTI so JI didn`t make any comment about the issue. He said JI central general secretary Liaquat Baloch had already denied issuing statement on the matter so stance of the party was cleared on the issue.
To a query about re-activation of defunct Mutahidda Majlis-iAmal (MMA), an alliance of religious parties, he said that thematter was discussed during meeting with leaders of Jamiate Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl at JI head office in Mansoora, Lahore. He added that a committee, headed by Liaquat Baloch, was also formed in that regard.
About electoral alliance, Mr Khan said all options were open for JI whether it was make seatto-seat adjustment, electoral alliance with other religious parties or revival of MMA before the next general elections. However, he said that things would be cleared with passing of time as election scheduled was yet to be announced.
Flanked by JI Youth Wing district president Siddique Paracha,Mohammad Iqbal and others, Mr Khan said that JI would win majority of seats in the general elections 2018 and would form government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that JI chief Sirajul Haq was leading the campaign for corruptionfree Pakistan.
Earlier, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) former district president Mohammad Irfan along with family members and friends announced to join JL He said that APML failed to play active role in politics and implement its manifesto in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that division within APML in the province was another reason of his departure from the party.
