TAXILA: Two people were killed and four injured after an oil tanker drove into a toll booth on G.T. Road on Tuesday.
National Highway and Motorway police said that an oil tanker going from Karachi to Peshawar developed a technical fault as it neared the Taxila toll plaza. The tanker collided with the toll booth as well as three vehicles.
Police officials said that the tanker collided with the cabin after its brakes failed. Two people, the toll booth operator Naeem Akhtar, and the oil tanker`s driver Kush Meer died, and four others were injured. One of the injured, another toll booth operator, is stated to be in critical condition.
Police officials have registered a case and started investigation.
