Ambar tribes vow to eliminate militants

GHALANAI: The security forces and local administration have asked the Ambar tehsil tribal elders to fulfil their territorial responsibilities and play role in maintenance of peace in their respective areas.

In this connection, a jirga of Ambar tehsil tribes was held in the Lower Mohmand`s Ekkaghund sub-division the other day.

Addressing the jirga, assistant political agent, Ekkaghund, Naveed Akbar and tehsildar Faramosh Khan called upon the elders to guard their houses and government properties because there were reports of movement of suspected militants in the area.

The elders were asked to do the watch and ward duties in their respective areas.

The elders from different sub-tribes of Ambar, including Malik Sahib Khan and Malik Izat Khan, vowed that they would fully support the security forces in the operation against militants.

They decided that strict action would be taken against tribesmen found sheltering anti-state elements in the area. The tribesmen vowed to extendfull support to the government and security forces to eliminate militants from the area.

DEMONSTRATION: The Mohmand tribesmen and workers of Mohmand Welfare Organisation staged a protest demonstration in the main Mandi Bazaarherethe otherdayto express solidarity with the Muslims being targeted by the enemy forces in Myanmar and other countries.

The participants were carrying banners inscribed with slogans against the silence of Muslim countries over the atrocities on Muslims in Syria, Myanmar and other parts of the world.

Addressing the protesters, MWO president Mir Afzal and Maulana Abdul H aq said that the Buddhist s, who portrayed themselves as preachers of humanity, were brutally killing innocent Muslims in Myanmar.

They said that children were being slaughtered like animals and old people burnt alive in Myanmar.

They asked the United Nations, world powers and Muslim countries to take note of the genocide of Rohingya Muslims.

They also lamented the silence of OIC over atrocities on Muslims in various parts of the world.
