Six killed in two Bannu firing incidents

LAKKI MARWAT: Six persons, including an elderly woman, were killed in two firing incidents in Bannu distHct, the police said on FHday.

They said three armed brothers attacked their relatives over a family dispute in Murar Khas area, killing them instantly. They said the attackers fled the place after the incident and the bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.

A complainant, Muneeza, 18, told the Miryan police in her preliminary report that after heated arguments, her husband, Asif Khan along with his brothers, Jehanzeb Khan and Mohammad Riaz, opened fire on her father, Sultan Ayaz, 58, mother, Dil Faraza Bibi, 55, and brother, Mamoor Khan, 30, killing them on the spot.

Meanwhile, the cantonment police said a man and his two sons were killed and their relative was injured over a property dispute inside a mosque in Gullakhel Daud Shah area.

They said Dilabaz Khan, 65, and his sons, Arshad Khan, 27, and Shaukat Khan, 35, were present in a mosque to offer prayers when their rivals, including Mustafa, Arif, Waseem, Ziaullah and Sadiqullah came there and opened fire on them.

The police said they died on the spot and their relative, Shah Khalid, 40, was injured in the attack. The bodies and the injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital.

The police started further investigations after lodging separate cases in both the incidents.

Separately, four workers of a contractor were electrocuted when they reportedly touched live cable of a transmission line while working on it in Lakki Marwat.

A Rescue 1122 official identified the deceased as Waliullah of Baistkhel, Arifullah of Masha Mansoor, Hazrat Ali of Tabi Murad and Mir Ahmad Shah of Tajazai.

He said the bodies were shifted to a hospital in Titterkhel town for completing medico-legal formalities.
