I WOULD like to bring to your notice that the Mohlanwal Road, beyond Thokar Niaz Baig, has been paved with cat`s-eyes in its length and breadth. Also know as road studs, these are a constant hassle for drivers, posing an impending danger to their automobiles.
The function of road studs is to make the driver aware of the path of the road during low visibility. The various housing societies on this road, however, have used them as speed breakers. Although they are a convenience for the residents, they are also a cause of great damage to the car tyres, and render them vulnerable to accident.
It is, nonetheless, suggested that proper rubber speed bumps be used instead of catlights, which can reduce a car`s speed without causing any harm. Action by the authorities concerned would be greatly appreciated.
