FAISALABAD: The AntiCorruption Establishment registered a case against former senator Farooq Khan, a close aide of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and two others on Monday on charges of fraud and inflicting million of rupees loss on the national kitty.
The Toba Tek Singh deputy commissioner sent a letter to the ACE director that Farooq Khan, naib tehsildar Iqbal and SherazGul of Kamalia service centre had prepared the fakedocumentsofKamalia sugar mills and obtained a loan of Rs2.6 billion. He said the suspects also prepared fake documents of change of mills name, causing financial loss of million of rupees to the exchequer.
The suspects used to frequently change ownership of the land and get loan on it, the letter said.
Deputy director legal Shehram Muzaffar and assistant director Malik Tariq were appointed as inquiry of ficers who found the suspects guilty.
