ISLAMABAD: KPK Himalayas and Punjab Harappa reached the final of the PFF National U-17 Championship after contrasting semi-final victories here at the Jinnah Stadium on Thursday.
KPK Himalayas edged Sindh Indus 2-1 in the first semi-final while Punjab Harappa stunned unbeaten Balochistan Hingol 2-0 to set up the title clash.
Himalayas dominated the first half and took the lead through a header before doubling their advantage when a player reacted quickly to a loose ball following a long freekick.
Indus fought back after the interval and created two good chances but failed to convert.
They eventually pulled one back in the 80th minute when Ahmed Ali capitalised on a goalkeeping error.
Himalayas, however, held on to secure the victory.
In the other semi-final, Harappa took the lead in the seventh minute through a first-time flick into the top corner following a cross from the left.
They doubled their advantage before half-time when a player cut in from the right and placed the ball into the corner.
Balochistan Hingol pressed hard after the break but could not find a way through.
The final of the championship will be played at the Jinnah Stadium on Saturday at 7:00pm (PST).
