PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People`s PartyShaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) has announced it will actively participate in the 2018 general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by fielding candidates in all national and provincial assembly constituencies.
PPP-SB provincial chief organiser Mukhtar Ahmad Khan told a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday that the party`s re-organisation had been completed in many districts of KP and the process was still underway.
He ruled out the possibility of the formation of an electoral alliance or seat adjustment with any political parties in the next general elections.
`We will make no deal with the corrupt people,` he said.
Mr Mukhtar said corrupt people should be held accountable, while the money looted in the country and stashed in foreign banks should be brought back and the corrupt people should be disqualified for public of fices forever.
He said his party was conducting the mass contact campaign across KP. The PPP-SB leader said tickets would be awarded to honest people to bring them in parliament for amicable resolution of the people`s problems.
He said the party would field candidates on all 99 provincial assembly seats during the next elections in the province. Mr Mukhtar said the country was on the verge of bankruptcy at the hands of corrupt rulers.
He said only honest and dedicated leadership could steer the country out of the current crises.
The PPP-SB leader said the party pursued the mission of former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and was striving for the provision of rights to the people, especially the downtrodden segment of the society, across the country.
`After coming to power, we will implement its manifesto of roti, kapra and makan (food, clothing and shelter),` he said, adding that the elimination of terrorism, corruption, lawlessness, unemployment and injustice were also part of the party`s main goals.
Another PPP-SB leader, Reena Malik, said the party would launch a mass contact and membership campaign after completion of organisational structure. She said the party had finalised strategy to fully participate in the next general elections in the province.
