MINGORA: Students of the government primary school, Sher abad, here have demanded of the government to construct their school building and provide them basic facilities.

They said that many students had given up their studies due to lack of basic facilities for getting education.

The primary school is located about three kilometres from Mingora in Ogdo area.

The school has no building for which two shops along the dusty road have been rented where 90 students of six classes from class-I to fifth sit and get education.

`My brother pay the monthly rent of the two shops for the school,` said Mohammad Roshan,a resident of Sherabad village. He said that the government should construct building for the school so that the children could get proper education.

The students complained that they had been facing problems due to absence of building.

`Students of three classes sit in one shop which is disturbing.

Every time vehicles pass in front of the shops they create noise and produce dust,` said Rahmatullah, a student of the school.

Local people said that the municipal administration had been disposing of garbage near the school.

`Hundreds of trucks bring garbage of Mingora city here and throw it nearby which produces filthy smell making our stay here dif ficult,` said student Habiba. She demanded of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to order construction of the school for them so that they could get education in clean and neat environment.

There are no chairs, drinking water and toilets for the students in the school.`The shops where students sit are along the road so when vehicles pass by that detract their attention by noise and dust,` saidSuliman Khan, the only teacher in the school.

When contacted, the area MPA claimed that he had alreadyasked his party workers in the area to find a suitable land for the school so that the building could be constructed.
