By Our Correspondent 2016-12-09
LARKANA: Comrade Sobho Gianchandani was remembered here on his second death anniversary in a very silent way on Thursday at his house where his family members along with a few friends lit candles, garlande d his pictures and paid tributes to his unshaken commitment with peaceful Sindh in the simple gathering.Comrade`s son Nirmal and daughter in-law Raikha were worried about the attitude of the culture department and Sindh government`s utter ignorance of their commitment of constructing his (comrade`s) Samadhi (tomb) in Jinnahbagh.

Even his friends did not turn up to this simple arrangement at the home, though a post was uploaded on Facebook regarding the event, they said.Nirmal Gianchandani said former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah had not only visited his house and offered condolences, but also promised to build comrade`s Samadhi in Jinnahbagh.

He also visited the site and agreed doing it, but unfortunately a summary submitted to the CM House then was yet to see the light of the day.

`The comrade is still alive in our hearts,` he said, add-ing that his father was very clear about his thoughts and had firm belief in humanity.

He loved Sindh since his childhood.

He through all ups and downs stood committed with peasants` struggle, fought for the rights of the downtrodden and proved himself a true revolutionary, he said.

Comrade`s daughter in law Ms Raikha said her father-in-law was an unmatched personality andeven today the family felt as ifhehadjustgone outofthe house and would return to say `how you are`.

She with teary eyes remembered his (comrade`s) love and care.

Writer Inayat Memon, flanked by Liaquat Panhwar, termed Sobho a towering literary, political and revolutionary personality who fought for his whole life with a goal and commitment. He was a university in his per-son and institution for others to learn, Mr Memon said.

`What a cold shouldered attitude I witnessed today has really confirmed to me that we always praise the dead,` he said.

The participants appealed to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to ask Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah for constructing the comrade`s Samadhi in Jinnahbagh and printing his unpublished works.
