OVERUSE OF POWERPOINT: The use of PowerPoint has become ubiquitous in academic settings, with many professors relying on it as a crutch to deliver their lectures. However, research has shown that this approach can be detrimental to the students` learning process. PowerPoint presentations often lead to passive learning, where students simply copy down the information on the slides without engaging with the material. The ban on PowerPoint will be a step to promote active learning, where students are encouraged to participate in the classroom and engage with the material. This approach will be more effective in promoting long-term retention of information and in the development of critical thinking skills.

Q azi Najiullah Sukkur ELECTRICITY WASTAGE: The energy that we waste by keeping household devices, like television sets, computers, printers and phone chargers, on the sleeping mode is a significant issue. Even when these devices are not in use, they consume energy if they remain plugged to the power supply source.

Approximately 25 per cent of electricity in Pakistan is wasted at the household level. Energy wastage is a critical issue, considering that the country primarily relies on non-renewable sources of energy. The government should take proactive measures in raising awareness about electricity safety and energy conservation. Simple actions, such as switching off unused devices, can make a substantial difference, help us conserve energy, and reduce wastage by 5-10pc.

Tahira Washdil Turbat SPECTACULAR EXAMPLE: A Supreme Court bench held a special session at night to hear the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) petition on Dec 15, and issued a verdict in the same session. It was an amazing example of speedy justice. I hope other courts also follow this spectacular example and provide speedy justice to the poor majority of the country.
