LAHORE: Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar claims that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is following the ideas of former prime minister Imran Khan by launching livestock and other such schemes.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, he said the chief minister was opening the schemes initiated by the PTI government even one year after taking over Punjab.
He recalled that Imran Khan had announced on Feb 22, 2020 that the government would give one buffalo, one cow and three goats to economically strengthen women of border areas.
The former prime minister had also initiated a poultry scheme in 2018 and then many politicalrivals had made fun of him, recalled Mr Bhachar, who represents PTI in the Punjab Assembly.
`Now I question all those politicians whether they will praise this scheme or criticise it? The fact will not change by renaming Imran Khan`s initiative as Livestock Card.
He criticised the PML-N government for denying the shooting of `peaceful` protesters in Islamabad on Nov 26 and claimed that the prime minister and interior minister had issued the orders for firing at the PTI workers in D-Chowk.
He said the PTI MPs, whether in the Senate, National Assembly or provincial assemblies, would repeatedly question why the government ordered firing on innocent workers. Staff Reporter
