PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to withdraw the guards from private and unauthorised persons and carry out fresh assessment in this regard through the local police and intelligence departments.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, the home and tribal affairs department said that the decision to withdraw guards from unauthorised persons was taken at a meeting of the provincial cabinet held on October 17, 2013.
In order to implement the cabinet`s decision in letter and spirit, three committees have been constituted to assess the threat level to the private persons having police guards at district, division and provincial levels.
The district level committees include deputy commissioners, representatives of district police officers and two representatives of federal intelligence agencies.-Bureau Report
