Minor issue claims life of three brothers

PESHAWAR: Three real brothers were killed at the hands of each other over a minor issue here on Sunday, police said.

The incident took place in Abdara Road area where three brothers killed each others over a dispute related to a faulty power transformer.

Officials of Peshtakhara police station said that two brothers identified as Sahibullah and Rizwanullah opened firing on each other after exchanging hot words over a minor issue.

Their two other brothers identified as Sibghatullah and Kaleemullah, who were trying to resolve the issue, also sustained bullet injuries in the incident. All of them were rushed to Khyber Teaching Hospital where Sahibullah, Rizwanullah and Sibghatullah succumbed to their wounds.Khalilullah, the victims` father, told police that the issue was very minor but it led to bloodshed.

He said that Sibghatullah had recently returned from abroad and had nothing to do with the dispute but he also lost his life in the incident.

In another incident, a land dispute claimed life of a young man in Sulemankhel village of Badhber area.

Malik Ali told police that they had some dispute with their neighbours over a piece of land. He said that his brother Didar and accused Mumtaz exchanged harsh words on Sunday morning and as a result his brother was shot dead. A case was registered against Mumtaz at Badhber police station but he managed to escape.

Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device (IED) was defused at Chato Chowk in the limits of Sarband police station on Sunday. An official said that they called bomb disposal unit after getting information about the presence of the device in the area. He said that device was defused safely. -Bureau Report
