Two killed, eight injured in Lasbela accidents

KHUZDAR: Two people were killed and eight others, including three police officers, were injured in separate road accidents on the Quetta-Karachi highway near Winder and Uthal in Lasbela district on Sunday.

According to officials, a Gwadar-bound passenger coach travelling from Karachi collided with a cargo-laden rickshaw in the Adam Khand area of Winder. The crash resulted in the deaths of two people travelling in the rickshaw, while three others sustained injuries.

Rescue 1122 teams provided first aid to the injured at the Winder Centre before transferring them to a hospital for further treatment.

In another accident near the Sikan area of Uthal, a car collided with a Uthal police mobile van, injuring three police personnel, including duty officer Muhammad Haroon Ronjho. Two passengers in the vehicle also sustained injuries. All injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Uthal.

Meanwhile, a long-body LPG tanker en route to Quetta overturned in the Bela area of Khakhar Goli. Although no casualties were reported, the accident caused a gas leak, prompting an emergency response.

Fire brigade teams from Bela Municipal Corporation rushed to the scene and after extensive efforts, managed to control the leakage.
