Minister orders probe into `murder` of Shangla youth

SH ANGLA: Federal Minister for Kashmir and GilgitBaltistan Affairs Amir Muqam has ordered the police to conduct a thorough inquiry into the alleged murder of a youth from his native Puran town here.

The youth had been missing for two weeks, and his body was found in a river in Swat a few days ago.

Mr Muqam, who is also president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Khyber Pal(htunkhwa, in a statement issued here on Sunday, condemned the alleged murder of the poor youth, who worked at a hotel in Swat.

Mr Muqam said he had tal(en notice of the incident, and asked the police high-ups in Swat to conduct a thoroughprobeinto theincident.

The federal minister said the youth`s body was found from the river in Matta after his brief disappearance.

`I have asked the police top officials for transparent and immediate inquiry into the sad incident as the young man was working at a hotel to earn a living for his family in Shangla,` he said.

The PML-N leader offered his condolences with the bereaved family and assured it of justice.

SHOP GUTTED: A mobile shop was gutted in Aloch Bazaar in Puran on Sunday. The police said the fire was erupted due to the heating up of a mobile charger.

Shop owner, Qari Anwarul Haq, told reporters that the fire caused him an estimated Rs4 million loss. He said he had gone to mosque for offering prayers when his outlet caught fire.

He said he called the Rescue 1122, but the officials told him that the service was only operational in Alpuri.

He said local people called the TMA to help put out the blaze, but to no avail.

He said people made hectic efforts and managed to extinguish the blaze. He demanded of the government and philanthropists to help him rebuild the shop and restart his small-scale business.
