KARACHI: A suspected robber was found shot dead in the limits of Napier police on Sunday night, according to police.

DIG-South Syed Asad Raza said that as per witnesses, a bike rider threw an injured person from the moving two-wheeler at Old Haji Camp near Ghas Mandi. He was taken to Civil Hospital Karachi where he was pronounced as dead.

The DIG said the deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman, 22, an alleged criminal. He said that a citizen later on approached the police by saying that the killed suspect, along with his another accomplice, had snatched two cell phones from him in Jehanabad area. They had also looted other people there.

The DIG opined that the killed suspect might have been injured in the firing by citizen (s) during a robbery attempt or shot by the firing of his accomplice.

Instead of taking him to a hospital, the co-accused dropped him there where he died. A 30-bore pistol and several cards were recovered from his custody. He had a past criminal record.
