RAWALPINDI: The leaves of Rawalpindi police officials/officers have been cancelled and those on leave called back on duty because of the prevailing law and order situation in the district.

A directive issued by City Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani said: `In case of non-compliance and absence from law and order, VVIP duty or rehearsal/match duty, the concerned controlling officer shall issue their major punishment (dismissal) order immediately.

A directive regarding cancellation of leaves has been sent to the SSP operations, investigation, SSP headquarters, security and CIA and all divisional SPs, SDPOs and concerned authorities.

The directive stated that in view of the law and order situation, all types of leaves except emergency are beingcancelled. Officers and officials on leave should report immediately on their place of posting.

Those who do not comply and do not reach their duty or remain absent will be dismissed, it added.
