LAHORE: A book titled Water in the wilderness: life in the coast, deserts and mountainsofPakistan,`byMehjabeen Abidi-Habib was launched at The Last Word situated at Mehmood Kasuri Road, Gulberg-III, on Wednesday.

Author Abidi-Habib was in conversation with entrepreneur and politician, Tia Noon.

Abidi-Habib, an ecologist and writer, has worked in the social development field for 25 years.

The book is about the beauty, continuity and fragility of a country much misunderstood and urgently seeking its core identity.

Ms Habib told the audience that it took her 10 years to complete the book.

She said it was a long fiction book having short stories and profiles. She also held Richard Garstang, a field biologist, in high esteem for his support and contribution to the book.

Garstang had been for 17 years working on saving Pakistan`s species, national parks and leading the Pakistan Wetlands Project with WWF-Pakistan. Staff Reporter
