`Safe City Project going on speedily`

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government is speedily working on the Safe City Project in Lahore which will be followed by similar projects in Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.

Chairing a third meeting of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority here on Wednesday, Mr Sharif said the government had attached top priority to making cities of Punjab safe and peaceful and added that all out resources werebeing utilized for the purpose.

`The Safe Cities Project is of great importance for eradication of crimes and improvement of law and order,` he added.

Mr Sharif said the use of modern technology would also help in curbing criminal elements.

Provincial minister Bilal Yasin, MNA Pervaiz Malik, MPA Jehangir Khanzada, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmed, chief secretary, Inspector General of Police, secretaries concerned and senior officials attended the meeting.
