One killed in robbery

ISLAMABAD: Two people were killed in separate robbery incidents in the capital on Saturday, police said.

In the first incident, a man, identified as Mohammad Arsalan, a delivery boy, was shot down by criminals during a robbery in the area of Macca Town.

The incident took place near his house when he was on his way home after work.

The preliminary investigation revealed that some person(s) intercepted him and fired at him, resulting in bullet injuries to his back and shoulder.

Upon hearing the gunshots, the people rushed towards the scene and found Arsalan lying on the road, injured.

Arsalan was then taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

A case was registered at Bharakahu police station against unidentified robbers.

In another incident, robbers shot and injured a man, Mohammad Safir, during a robbery in the area of Koral, the police said.

The robbers held him up at gunpoint and asked him to hand over the cash and valuables.

The robbers shot him in his leg and he fell on the road, and they escaped with looted cash and valuables. Staff Reporter
