Governor praises Taxila HiTec University graduates for their role in country`s uplift

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor Mohammad Balighur Rehman said thatthegraduatesofHiTecUniversity Taxila are playing their role in transforming Pakistan into a technologically advanced state and are serving in reputed institutions in Pakistan and abroad. He expressed these views while addressing the sixth convocation of HiTec University Taxila.

According to details, the sixth convocation of HiTec University Taxila was held at Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad.

The Punjab governor participatedin the convocation as a chief guest. He distributed medals and certificates among the students.

Addressing the convocation, Punjab Governor MohammadBalighur Rehman said that it was anhonour to preside over the convocation. The graduates are successfully playing their role in transforming Pakistan into a technologically advanced state and are serving in reputed institutions in Pakistan and abroad.

`A balanced society can be brought about through education.

Education plays a vital role in the development of nations.

Hi-Tec University, Taxila is playing an important role in the pursuit of higher education in various fields,` he said.

Congratulating the students, he said that thefuture ofthe country is connected with the students.

`The real success is to serve the people. One should work for the welfare of the people.

We should play a constructive role in the country`s development,` he said.

Earlier, in his welcome speech at the convocation, Acting ViceChancellor Prof Dr S. KamranAfaq highlighted the achievements of the university during the last two years.

He informed the participants about Civil Engineering, BS Mathematics, BS Islamic Studies, Management Sciences, BS Biomedical, MS Computer Engineering, PhD Computer Sciences and Computer Engineering.

He said that awarding PhD degrees to eight students from different departments is a matter of pride for the university.

Out of them four students are from Islamic studies department and four students are from electrical engineering and computer science departments.

Additionally, 84 graduates received MS degrees, while 866 students were awarded undergraduate degrees in the fields of Electrical, Mechanical and Computer Engineering and Computer Sciences Department.
