LAHORE: A number of new sports infrastructure projects are being developed in the Punjab capital.
A meeting of the Punjab Sports and Youth Affairs Department was held on Tuesday to review the initiatives. The new facilities include an e-Games Sports Complex, Boxing Complex, Rowing Centre, Baseball Ground, Climbing Wall, Volleyball Court, Archery Arena and a dedicated complex for chess, snooker and board games.
The meeting was chaired by Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar.
The minister said that under a phased plan, all coaches across Punjab would be trained in modern coaching methods. He added that a Monitoring Cell will be established at the Sports Board Punjab to oversee all sports complexes in the province.
He said that only sportsrelated activities would be allowed at these centres and warned of strict action against any official found hosting unrelated events.
